Stringent requirements

An aerosol can is a container filled with an active material which is atomised by a propellant. Its requirements are more stringent than those of a non-pressurised can.

It is imperative that the can is robust enough to withstand the pressure of the propellant—6 to 7 bar internal pressure is common—the chemical nature of the active material, and deliver a reliable spray until the contents are exhausted.

While careful material selection, proven component design and standardised processes enable a reliable, robust and compatible product, only effective monitoring and testing ensure consistency.
